Network for Dialogue

Germany
Project description

The Network for Dialogue, established by the International Dialogue Center KAICIID in 2019, is a Europe-wide platform established to bring faith and civil society actors together to promote the use of dialogue and develop more effective recommendations for social inclusion policies for migrants and refugees in Europe.

We are pleased to share with you a set of policy briefs published in 2021 and 2022 which reflect the accumulated knowledge and work of the Network for Dialogue members. We hope these policy briefs can be useful and helpful in the work on social inclusion of refugees and migrants across Europe, countering hate-speech, strengthening educational initiatives and building trust at the local level.

The Network for Dialogue gathers faith-based and secular organisations, religious leaders, and scholars working in the field of migration and religious studies. Currently, our members originate from Austria, Croatia, Germany, Portugal, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The Network continues to work on expanding its membership to other European countries. Since 2019, Network for Dialogue has been hosting an annual international conference, bringing together key stakeholders working on the social inclusion of refugees and migrants in Europe.

Acting as a convener for discussing the growing diversity and complexity of migration flows and migration dynamics, the Forum gathers diverse participants in interactive discussions that combine different perspectives and build bridges between various actors working with refugees and migrants around Europe. The Forum also supports new directions towards dialogue in migration policy and supports grassroots organisations in their efforts to let their mission and collective experience inform the work of policymakers.

The Network for Dialogue policy briefs were presented at the 3rd European Policy Dialogue Forum on Refugees and Migrants in Lisbon, Portugal, on 19-21 October 2021, and at the Europe Bottom-Up Migration Working Group Conference,  10-12 May 2022 in Athens.
